I'm sure many of you know what to do, but this is how I recently
checked an email.<br>

Next is a snipping from my Thunderbird client which received a
suspicious email this morning.<br>
There was an innocuous sounding file with my OPLIN name as part of
it.<br>
And everybody knows PDF files are good, right?<span
class="moz-smiley-s5"><span> :-D </span></span><br>

But hovering the mouse cursor over the underlined link "Download",
the actual link shows in the lower left of the page.<br>
(it won't do it here, just in a live Thunderbird)<br>

In this case it displayed "http: //www.jnc-tech.co.kr/index8.htm"
which is another red flag, as it is not Sendspace.<br>

You generally should stop here and delete the message, but I went a
bit farther.<br>
(Don't do this on a PC you really care about, or is connected
to the staff network. Better yet, just don't do it.)<br>
Using a Deepfreezed PC, I entered just the link http:
//www.jnc-tech.co.kr. This is a valid Korean company.<br>

Then I put in the complete link. A redirect message popped up and
the URL sent me to this Russian website.<br>

But more interesting was a windows request to allow the site to
install something.<br>
Couldn't get a picture of it, but you should get the idea.<br>
At this point I rebooted the PC to wipe it completely.<br>

I can't imagine the problems from just merrily clicking away, but it
wouldn't be anything good !<br>
