The campaign is called <b>EveryoneOn</b>. The key message is to encourage people who are limited or non-Internet users, to learn how to do “one thing better online.” Public libraries are key to the success of this effort because of your demonstrated commitment to providing free access to the Internet as well as to improving people’s skills (e.g. using a mouse, applying for jobs online, or creating email accounts).<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>The State Library of Ohio is bringing this important project to Ohio to help support the digital literacy awareness and training efforts of Ohio libraries. “Ohio's public libraries have long been recognized as leaders in helping Ohioans acquire and use essential digital literacy skills,” expressed State Librarian Beverly Cain. “Participating in the EveryoneOn campaign renews Ohio libraries' commitment to providing free public access technology and training to ensure that all Ohioans have the digital literacy skills needed to be successful in school, work, and life.”<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>The State Library is collaborating with <a href="http://www.connect2compete.org/">Connect2Compete</a> (C2C), the <a href="http://www.ala.org/">American Library Association</a>, the <a href="http://www.ala.org/pla/">Public Library Association</a>, the <a href="http://www.imls.gov/">Institute of Museums and Library Services</a> (IMLS), <a href="http://www.oclc.org/us/en/default.htm">OCLC</a>, the <a href="http://www.adcouncil.org/">Ad Council</a>, and <a href="http://www.connect2compete.org/partners">many private corporations</a> to help Ohioans with limited Internet access and experience learn to do “one thing better online.” <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>EveryoneOn details and updates for Ohio libraries are available at: <span style='color:black'><a href="http://library.ohio.gov/lpd/everyoneon">http://library.ohio.gov/lpd/everyoneon</a>.</span> A call to action will take place later this month to update information about your library in the zip code locator tool.
