Her visit marks the first installment in the library’s 2013 Visiting Author Series. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=Default><span style='font-size:10.0pt'>When Savage underwent an in-vitro fertilization transfer in February 2009, she knew it would be her last chance. If she became pregnant, she would celebrate the baby as an answer to her prayers. If not, she would be grateful for the family she had and leave her fertility struggles behind. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=Default><span style='font-size:10.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=Default><span style='font-size:10.0pt'>She never imagined a third option: Carolyn was pregnant, but the clinic had transferred the wrong embryos. She was carrying someone else’s baby. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=Default><span style='font-size:10.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=Default><span style='font-size:10.0pt'>Carolyn and her husband chronicled their experience in the book <i>Inconceivable: A Medical Mistake, the Baby We Couldn’t Keep, and Our Choice to Deliver the Ultimate Gift </i>(Harper Collins, 2011). <i>Booklist </i>hails <i>Inconceivable </i>as “compelling” and “well told.” The Savages’ story has been recently featured on news outlets such as <i>Dateline</i>, the <i>TODAY Show</i>, and <i>Katie Couric</i>.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=Default><span style='font-size:10.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=Default><span style='font-size:10.0pt'>The event is free and open to the public.
