<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">As a member of our IT department, I’ve been helping our teen librarian add Minecraft to the list of games they play at their Game On program which are held the first Thu of each month except in the summer.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">We bought a Minecraftedu.com server subscription which I think was $41 + VAT tax and installed and ran it off a spare Dell PC we had in the office. We then hooked up a wireless router to the computer and made
it its own mini network. We did not have to buy individual licenses for each participant nor did the participants have to buy their own membership. The server allows anyone to play the EDU version as guests. Our server is only running during game time. Since
they are on a separate network, the laptops we use don’t have a connection to the internet and the teens or children are safe from outsiders because we it isn’t a public server. We’ve played several different variations from creative to survival and from peaceful
to hostile.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">The only problems we have which I think are minor are that teens who do have a minecraft account can’t use them. There is no outside internet connection so no minecraft account authentication. Also, the server
is only on during game time so a teen or child that wants to play outside of our scheduled events, has to do so on a different server.
