for Ohio Library Educational Media Association (OELMA) we work to present a couple of workshops every year in our region (NW). We are looking at

21st Century Skills<br>

> The Ohio Learning Standards include the Common Core standards and<br>
> promote college and career readiness, K-12. The new Ohio Learning<br>
> Standards also include a mandated Third Grade Reading Guarantee, a<br>
> demand for higher graduation rates, and higher requirements for<br>
> college admission. Ohio teachers and librarians face state and<br>
> national changes which call for an increased focus on research,<br>
> literacy, text complexity and rigorous learning. This session is an<br>
> introduction to the standards and will include definitions of<br>
> important terms used in the standards such as text complexity and<br>
> academic vocabulary. The requirements of the Third Grade Reading<br>
