<a href="http://www.serveohio.org/"><span style="color:windowtext">Commission on Service and Volunteerism (ServeOhio)</span></a> to develop a program for public libraries called Guiding Ohio Online (GOO). Our vision for the initiative is for every Ohioan to
be able to fully participate in e-government, search and apply for jobs online, understand the risks and benefits to internet finance, connect with family online, and protect personal information in the digital age.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"">State Library Consultants Mandy Knapp and Evan Struble are coordinating the project. It began in August with the development of a program
plan for placing AmeriCorps members in rural libraries throughout the state in order to provide digital literacy assistance to the population that the libraries serve. AmeriCorps members will assist libraries with computer instruction, community outreach when
it comes to technology, hands-on help and other technology-related duties to fulfill the Guiding Ohio Online vision. Program activities will primarily be in the areas of workforce enhancement and digital literacy.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"">Libraries that wish to participate in this program must provide a small matching fund to secure either a full-time AmeriCorps member (40 hours/week) or part-time AmeriCorps
member (20 hours/week). <o:p></o:p></span></p>
