<a href="http://library.ohio.gov/lpd/lsta">Ohio LSTA</a> competitive grants program.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
</span><span style="color:#1F497D">Ohio’s</span> LSTA competitive grant program has been substantially revised in order to target projects while still providing applicants the flexibility to address local needs. Grants using FFY2014 funds will be directed to
support literacy initiatives across the state.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>
The purpose of this grant program is to assist libraries in preparing individuals to be active learners and full participants in the local community and the global society.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
</span>Projects must support initiatives in Goal 1 or Goal 2 of the <a href="http://library.ohio.gov/sites/default/files/OhioLSTAFiveYearPlan2013-2017.pdf">
LSTA Five-Year Plan 2013-2017</a>.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>It is anticipated that the
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal">Request for Proposal (RFP) will be released the week of August 18, 2014
</b>with proposals <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal">due at the State Library by September 29, 2014</b>.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
</span>Funded projects will begin January 1, 2015 and terminate September 30. 2015.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
</span><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"">Under the Literacy initiative, applicants may apply for either a Planning Grant or a Project-Based Grant.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
</span>Applicants may request up to $24,000 in federal funds.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
</span>A financial cash match of 25% of the total project cost is required.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
</span><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"">The competitive grant also includes new components and requirements.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"">• Proposals must include formal partners that will contribute specified deliverables to the project.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
</span>For each formal partner, a signed partnership form (part of the application package) is required.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"">• Proposals must include a sustainability plan or strategy to continue (for project grants) or implement (for planning grants) the program
after September 30, 2015.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>This section must include names of possible future funders and/or where you may seek future funding.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
