putting them to good use. <a href="http://www.drc.ohio.gov/web/prisprog.htm">The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction</a> maintains a library for inmates as well as a children’s reading room in each prison.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"">The prison libraries are in need of materials – specifically:<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"">Fiction and Nonfiction Paperback books (No true crime, please)<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"">Encyclopedia Sets (Some institutions have sets that are more than 20 years old!)<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"">Playaway Audio Books<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"">Children’s Books<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">T</span><span style="font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"">he children’s rooms are there as a comfortable place for children visiting their incarcerated parent. The reading rooms
encourage family literacy, and contain a wide variety of children’s books. In addition<span style="color:#1F497D">,</span> an inmate narrator reads to the visiting children twice a day. A variety of arts and craft supplies for the children are also available
in most of the rooms. Many of the supplies and books are donated by employees and service organizations.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">I</span><span style="font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"">f you already send materials to your local correctional facility (jail, prison, youth facility), please continue to do so.
This is just another means for libraries to share withdrawn material with the prisons.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
