<div dir="ltr">I'm in the middle of preparing the content for our first digital sign for Middlefield Library. Our library system, Geauga County Public Library, went with Retriever. I spent on morning learning the interface and practicing inserting text, images and colors. The system is super easy. And - my favorite thing about it is that I can update the sign messages from any computer at any time because it's web based. I am able to assign permissions to individual users at each of our system's six locations. So - if someone else wants to post an event on the fly, he would be able to do so.<div><br></div><div>Right now, we have just one sign that's about to be installed at Middlefield Library. We have plans to install another TV monitor at Chardon Library in the future. If these signs are well received, we will explore adding them to our other locations.<div><br></div><div>I understand the concern about bombarding people with too much information - especially electronic. And, it does seem at times that we are exposed to nonstop digital marketing. However - we are already posting flyers and posters all over our buildings that promote the very things that ONE digital sign can handle. The amount of flyers we design, print and deliver is massive. One digital sign is clean, colorful and gets information quickly to a captive audience - people waiting in line to check out their library materials. Besides, people are used to to these signs. They see them at banks, grocery stores, airports... Libraries are one of the leading distributors of information - and we're also looked at as being at the forefront of new deliveries. This technology isn't new.
