</span></strong>Garrett-Hayes. Sharon passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at her home in Caldwell, Ohio. She retired in October 2015 after 33 years of dedicated service to the State Library’s SEO Library Center and to Ohio libraries. She was diagnosed with
cancer shortly after her retirement. Sharon is warmly remembered for her positive and upbeat nature, contagious smile, and unwavering commitment to helping Ohio libraries successfully serve their communities. While working behind the scenes for most of her
career, Sharon’s passion for outstanding customer service led to several promotions, including her position as Library Services Supervisor in 2014.

<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif">Her lifelong career at SEO began as Office Manager working for SEO Director Ward Murrey. Next, she worked on a State Library of Ohio, Southeast
Ohio Library Center bookmobile as a Library Assistant. After returning from library services on the road, Sharon worked as a Library Assistant in computer operations at the SEO Library Center consortium and was promoted to Computer Operations Supervisor in
2011. In 2013, Sharon and her SEO Library Center colleagues, Director Dianna Clark and Network Administration Supervisor John Stewart, were awarded the Governor’s Award for Employee Excellence from Ohio Governor John Kasich. They were recognized for leading
a large software upgrade project in 2012 that streamlined library services for approximately 890,000 registered borrowers at SEO member libraries, and saving those libraries $1.75 million in software licensing costs.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif">Sharon’s legacy in libraries lives on through her contributions to SEO and Ohio libraries, and through her daughter Ashlee (Clark) Tominey. A
former State Library of Ohio Executive Secretary, Ashlee earned her M.L.I.S. in 2013 and was promoted to the position of Library Development Consultant with an emphasis in special project coordination. Ashlee left Ohio in 2014, and now works as an Adult Services
Librarian at Crystal Lake Public Library in the greater Chicago area.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
