Your staff can and should make a judgment call for themselves if they are unable to get to work due to the weather, but we're here to serve the public, and especially when it's this cold out they will come to us to get warm. I'd also point out that Eric and Michael aren't mean, but are in fact big softies who are looking out for their patrons. ;-)

<div dir="ltr">In a word, no. I know that it's cold, but library business (typically) happens indoors. We live in Ohio, and people need to dress accordingly. If the staff here asked me this, I would remind them that there are places that are much colder than Ohio, and these places have libraries that are clearly open in this weather. I'm not sure how I promote our services (paid for by tax dollars by people who may well work OUTSIDE in this weather) as being very important to the community if I close because it's cold.
