</head><body><p>The Kaubisch Memorial Public Library is seeking a personable and motivated leader to become its next Library Director. The proficient applicant will demonstrate strategic planning, excellent people skills, and encompass the ability to work efficiently and effectively with staff and patrons to sustain the Library’s integrity in enhancing the community.</p><p>KMPL is located in Fostoria, a community of 13,000 approximately an hour south of Toledo and an hour and half north of Columbus. The town has a rich history in glass manufacturing and rail systems. The Library spans over 23,000 square feet and has undergone multiple additions over its history. Once a Carnegie, the Library now has five floors for public use. In 2011 a Permanent Levy was passed ensuring the Library’s growth and prominence. Funding also comes from the city and its three counties (Seneca, Hancock, and Wood) and it supports a healthy budget of $800,000. KMPL has strong community support and a dedicated staff of 6 full time, 11 part time, and 3 seasonal employees.</p><p>Characteristics of the desired applicant:</p><p>Requirements include MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited program with 3-5 years of progressive supervisory/management experience in a public library setting. The best candidates will show public library management skills and a knowledge of professional tools and resources in collection development. This position will require community involvement, especially with local business leaders and the leaderships of the local school districts. This position also includes benefits including vacation, health insurance and membership to professional organizations.
