 in a professional setting, 3) three years of experience working in a public library, or 4) three years of experience managing people;

<p class="x_MsoNormalCxSpMiddle"><span style="font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">The Children’s Services Manager works closely with the Library’s Administrative Team in providing creative and innovative approaches to library services to children
 and families. Duties include but are not limited to the following:</span></p>

<li class="x_MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">Oversees the main library’s Children’s Department; serves as a resource for branch children’s services operations.</span>
</li><li class="x_MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">Interviews, selects, schedules, trains, mentors, and evaluates staff; delegates responsibilities appropriately.</span>
</li><li class="x_MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">Plans and administers the Children’s Department budget; Identifies outside sources of funding and writes effective grant applications related to children’s materials
 and services.</span> </li><li class="x_MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">Represents the Library and services to children in the community; Develops cooperative relationships, forges partnerships, and actively networks in the community.</span>

<li><span style="font-size:11pt">Maintains a working knowledge of the Children’s Department collection; coordinates the Children’s Department collection development efforts; collects data and compiles reports, as needed; coordinates creative displays to merchandise
 the children’s collections and resources.</span></li><li><span style="font-size:11pt">Plans and directs children’s programming, on and off site, in conjunction with administrative goals and objectives, sound child development principles, current educational practices, emerging technologies, and popular youth
 trends.</span></li><li><span style="font-size:11pt">Establishes programs and services for parents, individuals, agencies, and other professionals who work with children in the community.</span></li><li><span style="font-size:11pt">Coordinates the publicity of programs and services.
