<h2>Fortnite IRL</h2>

<p>Fortnite is an incredibly popular video game series set in a post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested world. Over 50% of all Nintendo Switch owners (22 million total) have downloaded Fortnite and as of August 2018, there were at least 78.3 million active Fortnite players. Though there are several distinct games in the series, Fortnite Battle Royle is the most popular game with people of all ages - especially youth. In Battle Royle, players fight against enemies and each other to be the last player standing. </p>
<p>What does this have to do with libraries, though?</p>
<p>As community centers, libraries can use programming themed around popular video games like Fortnite to help increase youth (and parent) participation in the library. A few years back when Pokemon Go premiered to great popularity, many libraries took advantage of the trend and hosted Pokemon Go parties and programs. In a similar way, Tiffany Fay of Emporia Public Library has recently created and hosted a successful Fortnite related program which she calls "Fortnite IRL." With the participation of youth and their parents, Tiffany used library space, cardboard, landyards, and beanbags to create her own real life version of the Battle Royale game. </p>

<p>IDEAL ‘19 will provide an opportunity for professionals at every level and across sectors to discuss how increasing workplace diversity and creating an inclusive workplace environment improves organizational effectiveness, creativity, adaptability, and relevance to the communities served by the organization.</p>
<p>As a result of participating in IDEAL ‘19, attendees will be able to:</p>
