Ryan Burley</a> to the position of Deputy Director of State Library Operations. In his new role, Ryan oversees the comprehensive operations of the State Library, which includes responsibilities such as policy formulation, budgeting, strategic planning, and
 program evaluation. Acting as a senior administrator, he supports the State Librarian in defining and actualizing the library's goals and objectives. Furthermore, Ryan will serve as the chief administrator of the agency in the absence of the State Librarian,
 representing the leadership and vision of the library. This promotion is a testament to Ryan's unwavering dedication and expertise.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif">Ryan oversees the Library Services Division, ensuring the seamless functioning of various critical areas such as Facilities Services, Circulation & Special Services,
 Research & Catalog Services, Resource Sharing, and the Talking Books Program. His responsibility extends beyond Library Services, as he collaborates closely with other State Library divisions, libraries across the state, and both state and federal government
 officials. This collaboration is essential for maintaining smooth operations and ensuring that library services meet the needs of Ohio residents, libraries, and state agencies. Through his leadership, Ryan ensures that the library remains a vital resource
 for information, education, and accessibility for all.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif">In August 2023, Ryan joined the State Library as the Research & Catalog Services Manager. In this position, he was charged with planning, directing, and coordinating
 the efforts of the Research and Catalog Services’ staff, as well as overseeing projects and programs that included collection development, state and federal government documents, digitization efforts, and cataloging. Ryan’s responsibilities extended beyond
 internal operations; he was also committed to fostering strategic partnerships and collaborations with state agencies, various types of libraries, and organizations related to libraries. His comprehensive approach enhanced the library's reach and efficacy,
 ensuring that it continues to serve as an essential resource for Ohioans.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif">“Ryan’s operational and leadership experience, gained through his extensive work in public libraries, as well as his recent experience at the State Library, make him
 a perfect fit for this position,” expressed Interim State Librarian Beverly Cain. “I look forward to working with him in his new role to continue the tradition of excellence the State Library has established over its 200+ years."<o:p></o:p></span></p>

 two years as the manager of the New Albany Branch. His career began in Youth Services, where he quickly demonstrated his aptitude for leadership and was promoted through increasingly responsible managerial roles. Ryan's dedication to team building, effective
 project and program management, and his unwavering commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences have all contributed to his record of successful leadership. As part of the State Library of Ohio, he continues to leverage his extensive background
 to foster a thriving library environment.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic",sans-serif">His academic background is marked by a strong foundation in both the humanities and information sciences. Ryan earned his Master of Library Science from Kent State University's
 School of Library and Information Science, which has since been renamed the School of Information. Prior to this, he completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Classical Humanities at The Ohio State University.
