[OPLINTECH] Direct Linking to OPLIN databases

Don,

Thanks again for all the assistance. You have been very helpful.

I have (hopefully) just a few more questions. I noticed yesterday a new
Reference Database that I had not heard about before: "Auto Repair Reference
Center" from EBSCOhost. I can gain access to it from inside the library but
not at home (even though it has the "Home Access" logo). I noticed that on
the OPLIN page it states: "Access is restricted to subscribing libraries."
Does this mean that for patrons using our library's cards for "Home Access"
won't have access at home unless our library subscribes (even though we do
have access in the building)? Or is home access not quite working yet? The
Sirs Knowledge Source also has the "Access is restricted to subscribing
libraries" disclaimer. However, I can use that at home; and, I don't
remember our library subscribing for that (maybe I wasn't informed). If we
need to, how does a library subscribe? And, is there any cost in
subscribing?

One final topic (I hope). I noticed that in the "Business and Career
Databases from EBSCOhost" does not appear in the "Full Descriptions" page on
OPLIN. However, it does appear in the "Short Descriptions" and "Quick
Descriptions" pages. Is this one going away? Or was it accidentally not
placed on the "Full Descriptions" page?

I hope I am not being a pest with all these questions. Thank-you for your
assistance.

I'm terribly sorry about the delay getting statewide
remote access to AccessScience. They just won't
respond. If you can bear with me a little longer, I
hope to have remote access to the resource through
the new OPLIN website.

Yes, it does. netLibrary requires users to go into
a library and set up an individual account. After
that, they can use their individual accounts for remote
access. (Yes, it's inefficient. I personally have
at least 3 netLibrary accounts).

Fixed that. Thanks for telling me.
