We have just started using Overdrive at CCPL however we do not allow
downloading as yet. I suppose patrons who bring in their own equipment and
access our Wireless internet we have at a few of our branches can do it
though.

The only proper and secure way to do it would be using a separate VLAN for
patrons to connect their devices to.
This would protect the rest of your network. For some resources on VLAN's

Subject: [OPLINTECH] Overdrive/e-Books question

We are considering using Overdrive to offer e-Books to the patrons of our
county. Since some of our patrons have computers but no Internet access,
does anyone currently offer access within their library for the downloading
of e-Books either to a laptop or PDA? If so, how are you doing that and
still maintaining security?

Thanks,

Jay
