NETWORK SUPPORT SPECIALIST 

 

REQUIRED Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Computer Science or a related degree, or certification from an accredited institution in the information technology field, AND 1 year of experience with Microsoft technologies, Windows XP/2003, Microsoft Office and Internet applications, OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Junior level systems administration ability in Microsoft operation systems, including but not limited to: Active Directory administration and design; network routing; Windows XP/2003 troubleshooting and maintenance; LAN cabling and Ethernet; configuration and maintenance of DNS; Windows 2003 Server installation, migration, and configuration; analysis of server and application performance; and identification and correction of network vulnerabilities. 

 

preferred qualifications: 1 year of experience in network support or administration in a small to medium-sized network environment, 1 year of experience with Symantec Ghost and Backup Exec, Cisco routers and firewalls, Microsoft Exchange and VB scripting, and any of the following certifications: A+, Network+, Server+, Security+, or MCP.

 

Responsibilities: Help Desk service to customers and staff, installs and maintains computers and software on the network, assists the Network Administrator in basic network support, documentation of the network, develops and conducts orientation and training for staff, serves as an internal consultant on technology training issues.

 

Starting salary will be between $20.02/hr and $25.02/hr, based on experience. 37-hour workweek including some nights and weekends.
