Richard,

We have been using OpenOffice.org at Community Library for over a year.
All of our workstations, public and staff, have it installed. The
public has not expressed any discontent with OO.org. Staff haven't
either, but many continue to use Word. It is not an issue of getting
staff to use OO.org; rather, it's getting them comfortable with it. For
example, if someone knows how to format a label in Word, they don't want
to take 15 minutes to figure it out in OO.org, and they continue using Word.

Personally, I haven't touched MS Office since I installed OO.org and I
do not miss MS Office a bit. I have experienced no problems with
compatibility.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Chauncey
