Check the properties of the desktop folder in the users profile and make
sure that it is not set to read only.

Subject: [OPLINTECH] Allowing users to save to the desktop

I am using Windows Steady State and there is a setting under windows
restrictions that will prevent users from saving to the desktop. I have
this setting disabled, however, patrons still cannot save to the
desktop. These computers are not part of the domain so I checked
gpedit.msc and nothing is configured prevent patrons from saving to the
desktop. Does anyone know of a registry edit that will allow patrons to
save to the desktop?

Thanks in advance,
