We have been using the Pharos print management and computer reservation
system for about ten years and have been very happy with it.

However, it is not freeware or low cost.

Hi All,

    I have read (without much interest) in the past about print
management software on this list. I now have

an interest because of our current economy, in print management & would
like recommendations. 

Open source/free/low cost solutions are at the top of our list (though
higher priced might be considered on basis of merit).
