Christy,

Have you checked open-source? There are some really nice games and
educational software.

Here's a partial list:

Childsplay from http://www.schoolsplay.org/

GCompris from OFSET - <http://www.ofset.org/tiki-index.php?page=ofset>
Organization for Free Software in Education and Teaching

Secret Maryo Chronicals from http://www.secretmaryo.org/ (great game our
kids really like this one).

FreeCiv from http://freeciv.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

TuxKart from http://supertuxkart.sourceforge.net/

There are some other games that are really very well done but, are kind of
violent.

Along those same lines (OS) there are some other programs that I install on
our patron pcs.

Stellerium from http://www.stellarium.org/

Celestia from http://www.shatters.net/celestia/download.html

The Sage from http://www.sequencepublishing.com/thesage.html

Earth'sCore & Periodic Table from
http://www.freshney.org/education/index.htm

Subject: [OPLINTECH] childrens software bundles

Does anyone know of a company that will sell children's software bundles
that I can install on our public computers? I would rather buy a bundle of
3-4 titles for all of our computers than to have to purchase individually.
We used to get the bundle from Gateway with new computers but can't do this
now. We like to have this installed on our computers for children that do
not have internet access.

Thanks.

Christy
