Liz,

We offer a few things that all revolve around our public copier.

To answer your main question, Scan to USB and Scan to Email using the public copiers is free. There is no cost to us to offer these services. This includes the flat bed and the multipage. We do not scan to a network drive on the public copiers, we do on some of the staff ones.

Now for the more info.

- The copiers are Xerox and interface with ITS CoinOps. We do not use any kind of payment system other than cash.

- We have the capability to use them with Fax, but would need to install a fax server and it’s not in the budget any time soon. We use Fax24 for faxing in the public area and regular fax machines in the staff area. This system requires the patron use a CC over the phone or purchase a Fax card from our circ desk to use. Fax24 handles all pricing.

- We charge $.25 for color prints\copies and $.05 for B&W prints\copies.

- For copies we use CoinOps attached to the copier.

- To control printing we use Equitrac which interfaces with the CoinOps\copiers. This provides a pop up on the patron PC letting them know the cost and input a pin code to secure their document until they want to go release it at the release station.

- We offer wireless\mobile printing both internally and externally using PrinterOn, which interfaces with Equitrac, which in turn interfaces with the CoinOps\copiers.

- Staff can also print to the color copier out front in the public area without needing to input a pin code or get popups. This eliminated needing to purchase staff color printers or send things out to a print shop. (Staff doesn’t print to color very often, mostly B&W)

Hope this helps. Let me know if you are interested in more information.

Subject: [OPLINTECH] Scanner with Multi-page sheet feeder

I am looking for some input. We are getting requests from patrons who would like to scan using a multi-page sheet feeder. Do any of you use one in a public environment? Any recommendations? Thanks for your help!

Liz
