If you went to RightClick last year, you know what a valuable event it was.
If you didn't go to RightClick last year, it's never too late to start! And
if you've got some great ideas to share, please consider doing a
presentation. All library IT people of any level of expertise are invited
to share their unique solutions and practices with their colleagues from
around the state. You only need to present for 20-30 minutes, and you'll
get all kinds of great feedback from the audience. But note that the
deadline for proposals is this Friday!

*An important invitation for professional growth from the OLC's Information
Technology Division and the Ohio Public Library Information Network (OPLIN)*

One of the greatest benefits of membership in the OLC is the opportunity it
provides for meeting colleagues from around the state, learning from them,
and sharing ideas. Today's ever evolving technology landscape presses us
even further to come up with economical best practices and library "hacks."
This could be anything from "patron proofing" your equipment, innovative
network or website configurations, affordable digital asset management
software, custom reports, innovative practices for circulating devices,
embedded instruction, and more.

We believe that there are many good ideas around the state that deserve to
be exchanged. Accordingly, the OLC's Information Technology Division and
OPLIN are hosting the second annual RightClick

event on Nov. 3-4 at the Crowne Plaza Columbus North.

The evening of Thurs., Nov. 3 will be an optional, free reception to "break
the ice" and get the discussion going before Friday's presentations. On
Fri., Nov. 4, we invite you to participate in a showcase of best practices
and cool ideas for library technology.

*All library technologists of any level of expertise are invited to share
their unique solutions and practices with their colleagues from around the
state at RightClick 2016.*

Presentations should be short (20 to 30 minutes) and focused on your
solution. Think of this as an opportunity to share your tricks of the trade
and stimulate discussion. Proposals should be brief (less than 250 words)
and should state the effect you are hoping to achieve with your audience.
We all have one story we can share about something we have learned that
works (and something we have learned to never do again!). This is an
opportunity to learn from fellow IT staff dealing with similar issues and
have fun doing so.

*Submit your idea and contact information for RightClick 2016
