Specs from Shutterfly site

Internet Explorer/Edge (Windows: 7.0 or higher; 8.0 or higher recommended | Mac
OS is not supported)
Safari (Mac OS: 6.2.8 or higher; 9.0 or higher recommended | Windows is not
supported)
Mozilla Firefox (38.4 or higher)
Google Chrome (46 or higher)

To upload photos, view slideshows, and view videos, you'll need Adobe Flash
Player 10 or higher.
(We recommend, however, using at least Version 11 or the most current version
available.)
We also recommend you have the latest version of Java installed.

Sounds as if Flash is definitely required but JAVA only recommended.

And it did work fine for her with Chrome 7 days ago.
