Hi Ken and Joe,

That’s so interesting to hear – I replied to Mark off list earlier, but after seeing your responses, I have to add that I’ve had good success using old Epson Tm-T88iii’s connected with a parallel-to-USB adapter cable. Windows 7 Pro 64-bit; some using Epson native drivers and some with only Generic\Text Only driver; all with the parallel interface in the Epson, and the USB port in the PC; all using Symphony Receipt Printer (an app that transforms receipt output from Symphony ILS to customize formatting and style, and passes it on to the print driver). I just went to check some of our high-use circulation computers, and the PC staff use to process cargo daily has a Tm-T88iiip connected with a C2G-brand parallel-to-USB converter cable. It’s been running that way about 5 years. FWIW – a different result!

Subject: [OPLINTECH] ISO: USB adapters with LPT1 based Epson TM receipt printers

Has anyone had success using a particular brand of LPT1 to USB adapter with the Epson TM receipt printers?

We are looking to update our computers, parallel ports are less common on computers now and I am looking for the least expensive option to keep using our existing receipt printers with newer equipment.

Thank you,

Mark
