[OPLINTECH] Too noisy? 14 PCs with graphics cards in 17 x 30 x 10 room

It might be a little louder if you're rendering on all 14 at the same time or something. Generally, though, I don't think you'll notice much of a difference.

Would it be too noisy to get graphics cards in the new PCs for our computer lab?

We have a room with 14 PCs in it. We use the room for hands-on classes sometimes, but most of the time the room is open for patrons to use the computers. I want to get new computers for this room. I'm thinking about getting graphics cards in them for use with Photoshop (we're going to have that for a couple of months for a few classes) and possibly other graphics-intensive things in the future. However, I'm worried that the graphics cards will generate too much noise. (The computers in there now just have a graphics adapter on the motherboard.)

The room is 17.5 x 30 feet; the ceiling is 10 feet high. What I hear when I walk in there now is a slight hum from some sort of fan or air purifier on the floor. According to some app I found, the sound in that room right now is 43-45 decibels, the same as in my office.

I'm thinking of getting the AMD Radeon Pro WX 3100 or the Quadro T1000.

I think it'll probably be ok, but it would be interesting to know about your thoughts or experiences.

Phil
