The FCC announced last week that requests for $5.137 billion were received
during the Emergency Connectivity Fund Program's (ECF) initial application
filing window.

With $2 billion remaining in the ECF fund, the FCC will open a second
application filing window for schools and libraries to request funding from
the remaining portion for connected devices and broadband connections for
off-campus use by students, school staff, and library patrons for the
current 2021-22 school year. The second application filing window will
open on September 28 and run until October 13. It will provide support for
eligible equipment and services received or delivered *between July 1,
2021, and June 30, 2022*, for students, school staff, and library patrons
with unmet needs.

This second window will give schools and libraries that were unable to file
during the initial window an opportunity to request funding. However, if
you did file an ECF Form 471 application during the initial window but have
additional needs, you may also apply during this second window as well.

In preparation for the second window, OPLIN will schedule additional
training webinars to walk you through the application process, so please
watch for my email announcing the dates.

If you have questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact
me.
