We don't use AD or anything else like that to manage our printers for<br>
our 80 or so computers. For network printers, we just add a port on<br>
each computer that's going to use the printer. For shared local<br>
printers, I have a script on every computer that adds the shared printer<br>
near that computer (if any - the script is all commented out on some<br>
computers) and makes it the default printer; this is just for staff; the<br>
script is a logon script in a staff group policy.<br>

We're going to start using CASSIE for public print management soon.<br>
Also, we're going to start allowing staff from some departments to print<br>
to our networked Toshiba color copier, which has its own software for<br>
tracking use by department and logging each print job (username and<br>
filename or URL).<br>
