For web kiosk, I've successfully used Thinstation (<a href="http://www.thinstation.org">http://www.thinstation.org</a>). Just about any old PC that will boot via PXE works. It remote boots via PXE, pulling the thinstation (very minimal linux) OS from a local TFTP server and jumps right into a Firefox session. The home page can be configured via a config file on the TFTP server. No desktop to lock down and if someone does manage to hack or trash the OS, simply reboot...just like Deep Freeze. Great for browser-based catalog-only computers (or maybe browser-based circ-only computers if you can manage the receipt printer drivers).<br>
