Patron came in today with a DVD-R that only showed a desktop.ini
file<br>

He had put it in his PC and inadvertently clicked on the windows
format prompt. <br>
He said he then immediately turned off the PC.<br>
I always wondered what would happen by doing that.<br>
<br>
PhotoRec (Digital Picture and File Recovery) was able to retrieve
most if not all the files.<br>
Files were .doc .docx .jpg .txt 's<br>

Runs stand a lone in windows or various linux livecd's such as
GParted LiveCD<br>
<br>
Have used this open source program before on hard drives and usually
recovered something.<br>
First time I tried it on a DVD.<br>
