I've toyed with Google Cloud Print to permit printing from Chrome, Android devices, and anything else that supports printing to a Google Cloud Printer. It's pretty straightforward to set up and it's free. It's not necessarily designed for this type of scenario, but it seems to work for the most part. I just publish the public printer as a public Google Cloud printer and then give the link to people that want to print from the wireless network. Haven't really rolled it out completely though...Just playing with it.

We've been using the Lantronix xPrintServer to support iOS devices (4.2 and later) for around 8 months at Salem and it's been flawless. We didn't try to integrate into our print mgt software - we just set it up on the same network segment as the wireless APs for our public network and the printer that we assigned to serve that network segment. I don't think it provides any support for Android devices, but it does take care of all the Apple users very nicely and at around $200 it's hard to complain about anything. If you figure out a good solution for Android users please let me know.

We currently use Envisionware’s LPTOne print software, and their Mobile Printing Module for wireless printing. Currently, they only officially support up to Windows 7, and Mac OS X. We have unofficially been partially successful
in having Windows 8 machines print wirelessly. My question to the group is this, do you have a solution in place for printing from IOS or Android devices? I have opened a feature request with Envisionware, but we are just seeing if anyone is using a different
method. Thanks!
