The website features a fully responsive design, allowing visitors on any platform to view the same content, optimized for their display resolution. WordPress’ mature, extensible CMS allows library staff to update content and time-sensitive library news frequently. The website features the new ACPL logo designed by library employee Adam Roades, and is hosted at http://adamscolibrary.org.

Earlier this year, the Adams County Public Library also launched an internal staff website, connecting staff in all our branches through a powerful communication mechanism. Staff members log in to the Staff Site to access internal announcements, schedules and vacations, library handbook and forms, how-to information for each department, a Symphony Wiki, an internal calendar, and links to library resources for staff. A live chat shoutbox and birthday reminders are popular features, and help connect staff working at distant branches. The Staff Site was developed using WordPress architecture, and is hosted within the library network on a Debian LAMP server.

If you would like more information about these projects, I’d be glad to answer questions.

Jessica D.
