Is it safe to assume you have UPS's (Uninterruptible Power Supplies) for the critical router, switch, hubs, etc. ?<br>
If not, you should, especially if the AC power is not dependable.<br>
<br>
Are the connections fiber, T1, DSL ??<br>
<br>
If DSL on CenturyLink, they have been replacing the old ZyXEL EQ-660R modem with newer units.<br>
Have they actually tested the line quality? Techs should have hand held meters to do this.<br>
<br>
DSL and T1 use copper wire, so bad connections can cause problems,<br>
Years ago at Metter-Toledo the T1 lines to other buildings would starting dropping.<br>
We'd call the telephone company, theyed run a test which fixed the problem.<br>
The test used a higher voltage than normal use, which cleaned the connections.<br>
<br>
Also DSL must be relatively close to the telephone office. Should be less than 3 ~ 3 1/2 miles.<br>
Anything much more is very marginal.<br>
My house is 19,200 ft on CenturyLink and the connection is bad. 896k / 448k (download / upload)<br>
<br>
This probably won't apply here, but the data lines (and phone if T1 or DSL) should not run close and parallel to AC lines.<br>
Crossing at right angles is okay or if shielded cable or in metal conduit.<br>
AC is a sine wave with a rising and collapsing field which could induce current in parallel wiring.<br>
<br>
It's possible you have some marginal data cables in the building, or the wrong rating.<br>
Possibly even too short between certain equipment causing reflections on the line.<br>
But then you might have different problems.<br>
<br>
I would suggest doing a building at a time with methodical testing to determine what the problem really is and the fix.<br>
It is too hard to explain the exact procedure to follow but start at the first device and work from there.<br>
<br>
And as there are different buildings, different providers there may be different problems, different solutions.<span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
