Like you, I currently count: feed wifi logs to a text editor, and auto-count (instead of DCHP leases) unique instance of a MAC address in a given time period. I choose that criteria because I’m seeing many devices (especially staff cell phones) receive multiple DCHP leases in a single day to the same unique device. In the absence of a more managed WLAN architecture, I’m pleased with those numbers.
