I’m using DFE to manage windows updates on Windows 7 Pro computers, and I haven’t encountered the Win Update-prompted reboot loop for months, and never since I deployed DFE v. 8.32.220.5109 (released May 2). The Faronics DFE release notes mention that Windows Updates boot loop issues were addressed in v. 8.30 (released Sept 2015), and so far, that’s been my experience.

I’m running DFE Management Console on an instance of Server 2008 R2, and the clients on Windows 7 Pro. Sometime the Windows Update FixIt has worked but not always. I'm finding that it is downloading the updates and installing, it just doesn't seem to move on. I would have figured that Windows would have fixed their update utility by now. So I give the machines a limited amount of time (1 hour tops) and restart. They have always shown that they are updated.

I'm not having the issue on the machines that are updated via a Deep Freeze task.
