<div dir="ltr">WRT Google Drive/OneDrive/DropBox/etc, keep in mind that these files sync in "real-time" as you save changes to files. So only the latest version of each file is kept easily accessible and synchronized across your devices. If ransomware were to encrypt your data files, it would try to do it as quickly as possible and all of the encrypted files would quickly be synchronized up to the cloud and out to your other devices.<div><br></div><div>Google Drive and probably most of the others will retain older versions of your files, so you typically CAN revert back to an earlier copy of the file. But an important thing to remember is that you're going to have a lot of files to revert back to. So think of your workload if you have to revert every file manually. I don't think Google Drive has the option to revert all files at once to a particular date/time. That's not really a typical end-user use-case scenario for these types of services. I think you generally need to do it individually for each file. I'm not sure about OneDrive/DropBox/etc., but I expect they're probably similar.</div><div><br></div><div>So while you CAN use it as your life saver (and it's certainly better than nothing), it may be impractical for lots of files.
