<span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">USAC continues to send out emails to inform E-Rate applicants they must update their Form 498 to indicate a
business type as part of the “Digital Accountability and Transparency Act of 2014 (DATA Act)”. This is the form that many applicants filed previously to indicated banking information when receiving reimbursements. If you only receive discounted bills, meaning
you never file BEAR forms, you may have not filed a Form 498, so this does not apply to you. However, if you do have a Form 498 in the EPC portal that needs to be updated, the issue is the absence of a “business type” for public school districts, public library
systems, ESC’s, etc. </span></p>
