<div dir="ltr">Hello all,<div><br></div><div>A big shout out to OPLIN's Webkit Testing Group, which tests potential features and makes recommendations: thanks to their work, we're pleased to be rolling out two new changes/features over the next several weeks.</div><div><ul><li><b>Improved database display: </b>The display will look slightly different, but it will be more accessible to people with disabilities using assistive technology. In addition, some of the categories will be streamlined. As the Department of Justice put out its <a href="https://www.ada.gov/resources/2024-03-08-web-rule/">ruling</a> in April of this year, that focus has become even more important. To assist our Webkit libraries in evaluating their content, we'll be installing an automated check function that will help you know when your content is potentially inaccessible to people with disabilities. Web accessibility is an ongoing process and content needs to be evaluated consistently. We'll be sending out a guide to using the new checker in the coming days.</li></ul><div>Rollouts of the new features will begin by mid-November, and your library will be notified when the implementations for its site is completed. <b>If you have any questions, please contact me directly at <a href="mailto:laura@oplin.ohio.gov">laura@oplin.ohio.gov</a>.</b></div><div><br></div><div>Laura</div><ul><ul><li><br></li></ul></ul><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr">-- <br><b>Laura Solomon, MCIW, MLS </b>(She/her)</div><div dir="ltr">
