Agreed! If it's a note saying the book was damaged upon arrival, then the note taped on only damages the book further. Due to Covid my little academic library has absolutely no budget. I cannot replace materials. It is always quite stressful to try and peel
scotch taped notes off the front of my library's books when I know if I rip it further it still goes back on the shelf.

<div class="x_default-style">I'm trying to understand this...the need to attach notes to Book covers and Book pages with scotch tape? I'm used to patrons "trying to fix" material with scotch tape...what I can't understand is why people working in the Library
do it. We've evolved...there are post-it notes, painters tape, paper clips (iffy), bigger sheets of paper to slide in....but REALLY a note attached with scotch tape slapped on the title page of a book?
