Thanks for this, Liz.  Jillian and I will take it under advisement as we do our report revisions.  We (Jillian and I) are working with Katy Klettlinger to develop a Digitization Basics workshop to be held at the end of April to help those who are interested in the DPLA but are and the very end of the preparedness spectrum.  We plan to include some DPLA information, as well, building upon what the working groups have come up with.

As to DPLA community reps, if I'm understanding your comment correctly, that is something that happens at the national level so increasing the number of reps in Ohio isn't something that we do at the state level.  That is, interested parties apply to the DPLA when they open their application period and are selected by DPLA staff.  It's possible for additional community reps to be added, but those reps would have to apply to the DPLA directly.

Did the advocacy group take a look at the DPLA website and the work that DPLA and some of the older hubs have done on training?  As we discussed last week it might be possible to build off of that work.  Here's the url: http://dp.la/info/about/projects/public-library-partnerships/.

Most of it focuses on organizations that are new to digitization.  The State Library may already have these workshops created, but since the advocacy recommendations included training, I thought it might be useful to include a reference to this DPLA work.  There are videos and other materials that address metadata, copyright, digitization, introduction to DPLA, etc.

I wonder also if we need to add another couple of DPLA community reps so that they reflect our CEC structure?  Just a thought.
