Title: Archivist/Local History Librarian
Organization: Aurora Historical Society
Location: Aurora, Ohio
Hours: Full time, 1-year appointment. Salary: $29,000 - $34,000, depending on qualifications Description: Under indirect supervision from the Board of Trustees, the Archivist plans, organizes, maintains, and preserves the print and non-print archival and local history collection of the Aurora Historical Society; develops policy and/or procedure and directly manages the acquisition, disposition, and safekeeping of archival and historic materials; assists researchers; and promotes interest in and use of the collection.
Qualifications: M.A. degree in history with archival training and/or a Masters Degree in library science with an emphasis on archives and/or equivalent training and experience. Ability to work independently and to make evaluative judgments. Ability to use personal computers and software applications. Good written and verbal communication skills. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
