[SOA] Next OhioDIG Meeting November 14

The third OhioDIG meeting will be on Monday, November 14, 2005 at Old
Worthington Library, located in Worthington, Ohio.

11:15 am - 12:00 pm  Showcase Worthington Memory
We will convene in the Meeting Room, adjacent to the lobby on the first
floor.  Susan Allen, Worthington Libraries Digital Library Leader and
Stefan Langer, Worthington Libraries Webmaster will give a presentation
about the development of Worthington Memory, which will include a tour
of the Worthington Room where digitization work is conducted. 
 
Worthington Memory is a collaborative digital library, the goals of
which are to collect and preserve local history materials, providing
greater access to and enhanced public awareness of Worthington's rich
history.  Worthington Memory includes historic documents, photographs,
objects, and audio recordings, as well as an index to local 19th and
20th century newspapers, a timeline of Worthington history, a database
of cemetery records, lesson plans, and documentation of Worthington's
bicentennial year (2003).  The site brings attention to materials that
traditionally receive less use because they are in special or private
collections, or are very fragile.  The community is invited to share
their own local history treasures, which are scanned and included on the
Worthington Memory Web site.
 
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm  Lunch and Discussion
Lunch will be a la Brown Bag in the meeting room.  A kitchenette
equipped with refrigerator and microwave for your convenience is located
adjacent to the Meeting Room.

Parking 
Parking for the Old Worthington Library is available in the lot off of
Hartford Street adjacent to the Library's south entrance, in the
Stafford Avenue lot (east of the Re-Max lot), along Stafford Avenue;
and, by the Hartford Street baseball diamonds.
