Pre-registration deadline for the Midwest Archives Conference's
upcoming Annual Meeting, "MAC in Bloom," is fast approaching: It's
next Monday, April 3! Get your registration postmarked by that date
and save $$ (only $50 for MAC members, $60 for non-members and $35
for students what a deal!!), and reserve your spots for tours,
workshops, and other events.
The meeting itself, held April 27-29, in Bloomington/Normal,
Illinois, will include all the workshops, tours, sessions and
networking events that have built MAC's reputation as a leader among
archival professional organizations nationwide, It'll have something
for everyone in the fields of archives, special collections
librarianship, conservation, public history and museum work. Be sure
to join us it'll be well worth your while!
Come find out what MAC veterans know well: that MAC meetings are the
best deal in professional development you are going to find anywhere,
what with the great sessions, workshop opportunities, and fun and
enlightening tours and social events--all of which build archival careers.
This year's highlights include workshops on oral histories,
preserving scrapbooks, and outreach; the plenary "Telling the Story
of the Poor: Journalism and Archival Memory," by Pulitzer prize
winner Leon Dash; a tour of the newly opened Abraham Lincoln
Presidential Library and Museum in nearby Springfield; and sessions
