All eyes are on the November 4, 2008 election and the Society of Ohio Archivists is hoping to take advantage of some of the enthusiasm generated by this historic event by making the theme of this year's program Elections in the Archives. The focus is on the voting process rather than campaigning. Ohio has a rich history of election firsts including Florence Harding, the first First Lady to vote and Florence Allen, first woman to be elected to a state supreme court. Your institution can participate in many ways: programs, lectures, a website, an exhibit or display.
You can also submit images of items in your collections for inclusion on the Archives Month poster. This poster is distributed to 2,500 people and institutions across the state. For more information or to submit images for the 2008 Archives Month poster, contact Louise Jones at ljones at ohiohistory.org <mailto:ljones at ohiohistory.org> .
