Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is pleased to present the second in a series of annual symposia this fall on September 18 and 19, 2009. This year's symposium, Models of Change: Keeping the Doors Open, will provide for the exchange of ideas on models and best practices to help weather the challenges faced by all of us in today's economic environment.

The Stan Hywet Symposium was initiated in 2007 as a forum for the study and discussion of a diverse range of historical, fundraising, technology, programming and preservation issues. It is a collaborative effort through The University of Akron, Kent State University, Ursuline College and Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens to address such issues for both scholarly and public audiences. Symposium lectures take place at the historic Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens in West Akron, Ohio, and include personalized tours and intimate gatherings. The symposium expects to bring together over 200 participants from all areas of the region for two days of programming and networking.

F.A. Seiberling, founder of Goodyear, called Stan Hywet home for his family and the Akron community and used it as a meeting place for creativity. In the spirit of the Seiberlings, we invite your organization to join our university partners to share some of your innovative ideas and participate in the discussion.
