Registration is open for the 2011 Society of Indiana Archivists Annual Meeting and Pre-Conference Workshop

April 1-2, 2011

Indiana Historical Society’s Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center - Indianapolis, Indiana

This year’s theme is Back to the Basics II: A Return to the Basics. Join us for the pre-conference workshop the afternoon of Friday, April 1. Presenters will be covering the various angles of needs assessments for archives and historical collections, from doing assessments yourself to successfully having them funded. There is limited space available for the workshop, so make sure to register early.

The all-day Meeting on Saturday will have six sessions to choose from, covering such topics as care and handling of photographs and film, digitizing newspaper collections, introduction to recorded sound collections, navigating permission-to-publish requests, transferring legacy data to current systems, and lone arranger/small institution strategies. Our plenary speaker will be Christopher Prom, Assistant University Archivist and Associate Professor of Library Administration at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He will be presenting “Building Digital Archives Capacity: Step by Step.”

There will also be an opportunity on Saturday to tour the Indiana Experience exhibit at IHS, featuring a new section, “You are there 1968: Robert F. Kennedy Speaks.”

For more information about the event, including a printable version of the registration packet, please visit our website at: http://www.inarchivists.org/meetings/index.php.

Registration forms must be postmarked by March 21 for the early-bird discounts.

ACA recertification credits can be earned by attendees. Please check back to our website regularly for updates on possible LEU credits.
