I Found It In the Archives! Contest Deadline Extended to Monday, February 7,
2011.

Have You Had a Great Experience Using the OHS Archives?

Have you ever discovered a real treasure in the Ohio Historical Society's
Archives?  Tracked down information about an elusive ancestor? Found OHS
staff to be particularly helpful with your research?  Please share your
story.  OHS is participating in the Society of American Archivist's I Found
It In the Archives! program.  We are extending the contest deadline to
Monday, February 7, 2011, for the submission of a 400 word essay or video
describing the information item found and how it impacted your research.
Send your stories by e-mail to archivescontest at ohiohistory.org  or  US mail
them to: Ohio Historical Society, ATTN: Lisa Long, 1982 Velma Ave.,
Columbus, OH, 43211.  After online voting, a winner will be announced on
February 23.  The prize package includes a one year annual membership to
OHS; a voucher for a free genealogy workshop at the Ohio Historical Center
in 2011; and a behind the scenes tour of the Center's archives storage area
in Columbus.  The winning entry will be submitted to the Society of American
