at OCLC, Dublin, Ohio
Do you have a new project, tip, or best practice to share with your fellow CONTENTdm users? The 7th annual Midwest CONTENTdm Users Group meeting needs you!
Please consider participating in the 2012 meeting with a presentation, poster, or panel discussion. We need your help to make our 2012 meeting a great one!
For highest consideration please submit proposals by MONDAY, MARCH 26, 6pm. (However, we will consider proposals submitted after that date as space permits.)
User Group meetings provide great opportunities to network, share best practices, and hear about the latest CONTENTdm product updates. Now in its seventh year, the Midwest CONTENTdm Users Group welcomes all CONTENTdm users, from beginner to advanced, from any type of library or historical or cultural institution. Please come join us!
Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and implementing a digital project (workflows, staffing, best practices)
- Collaboration between institutions on projects
- Working with 3D objects such as museum artifacts
- User statistics and assessment, production statistics
- Server management, hosted vs. non-hosted sites
- Programming and application building (widgets, API, other add ons)
- Digital archiving and preservation of digital collections
- Building text collections (institutional repositories, EAD, newspapers, multi-page documents)
- Fun with CONTENTdm (v.6 tricks and tips, innovative adaptations or uses)
- Creating and using controlled vocabularies
- Funding projects
- Collection customizations
- Metadata migrating, harvesting, repurposing
- Video, audio or other multimedia projects
- Photographic projects, image editing
- Oral histories and other historical documentation projects
- Rights management
- System integration and interoperability (digital collections in the institutional landscape, linking to collections via RSS feed, meta-searches, API)
