On July 23, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services
and General Government (FS&GG) will mark up a fiscal year (FY) 2014
spending bill that provides funding for the National Historical
Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC). It is vitally important that
you contact the members of the Senate Appropriations Committee TODAY and
ask them to provide the NHPRC with $4.75 million (level funding) for FY

House Appropriations Bill Would Eliminate Funding for

The House Appropriations Committee has released a draft FY 14 Financial
Services & General Government funding
bill<http://appropriations.house.gov/uploadedfiles/bills-113hr-sc-ap-fy2014-fservices-subcommitteedraft.pdf>.
Unfortunately the bill includes no funding for the National Historical
Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC).

The FS&GG subcommittee is marking up the bill tomorrow and the full
committee sometime soon thereafter.

The National Archives would receive $381.1 million. That is $4.7 million
less than what the Obama administration requested.
